Animal Technician

Education: B.S. or greater
Job Level: Minimum 1 year relevant experience
Responsibilities:
- Work independently and collaboratively in a matrixed environment
- Assume the role of animal facility manager
- Maintain housing and husbandry, genotyping, regulatory and safety, and keep thorough record for animals
- Develop breeding and genotyping protocols new strains of mice
- Maintain and stock materials/reagents/products used in animal procedures
- Perform basic animal handling procedures for pre-clinical experiments
- Create reports for experimental results and communicate them to a transdisciplinary team
Job Experience:
- B.S. or M.S.
- 1 year minimum of relevant experience required Desired skills: About Biotherapeutics:
- Knowledge of mucosal immunity
- Oral gavage, IP injections, euthanasia, Glucose tolerance test (GTT), blood collection
- Expertise in ABSL2 and infection studies
- Mouse handling, housing and husbandry, genotyping, management, SOP development, record keep skills
- Experience implementing murine models of immune-mediated and infectious diseases
- Organized with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with drug development process highly desired
- Animal facility management highly desired
